Consistently place in the top 5 of my age division as long as my body will allow it.

Beat Terry Bean at any distance at least one time before I depart this earth.

Take care of mind and body so I can be in it for the long haul. Don't do STUPID THINGS!

Run until I'm 99 with Kim by my side and remember that EVERY RUN IS A GREAT RUN!

40 minutes on the exercise bike and some light stretching and push-ups. Going to see the doc this afternoon.

UPDATE: So after going to the doc and discussing exactly what happened and the nature of the hip pain, we're thinking I must have a pretty good muscle strain or tear in one of the hip flexor muscles. He said these can take 4-6 weeks to fully heal which is kinda what I was thinking was likely the reality based on the pain yesterday trying to run. Maybe not my favorite thing but not too bad to deal with.

I'll continue with the biking for a while, add some phys therapy after a few days and beef up the core work. I'm thinking I may sell my UVM entry and look toward a fall marathon. I'm also thinking maybe UVM and I just aren't meant for each other, this would make me 1-3 getting to the starting line and 0-3 finishing.

Sorry to hear about the hip. Sounds like you have a great attitude though and are dedicated to the cross training so hopefully won't set up back much. Hope it is a quicker recovery than expected!

Terry I'm feeling pretty good actually since Monday, but it may just be the meds talking. The doc gave me some new-fangled anti-inflammatories that makes all the aches and pains pretty much non-existent. But based on how the med-free run went Monday I don't plan on even trying to run until next week at the soonest, assuming I have a couple pain free days without any meds in my system.

BTW Terry thanks for doing the blog on Cambrey's status. We check it every day and hope and pray for the best for her and for your family.
