I always have known that racing back-to-back marathons rarely turns out well. But I couldn't resist the perfect running weather and had to at least give another personal best a shot. But after just a few miles it was obvious that wasn't going to work as I could feel every ache & pain from 3 weeks ago flaring up. So decided to wait for Kim to catch up to me and try and keep up with her. She did awesome for 20 miles and was on track for a 3:35-3:40 finish when the runners knee flared up and shut her right down. Decided to play it safe and live to run another day and walked the last 3 miles. But still had a great time!

I guess us old men can't get two marathon PR's in a three week time period, but it was nice that you gave it a try to at least see what your body would do.

Sorry to see Kim have to give up a great 20 miles of running with knee issues.

It's always good to see you and Kim. I'm sorry the running didn't come together for both of you, but I'm not surprised that together you made lemonade out of the lemons. Like me, it seems you've learned there are many more joys to running and life than just PRs (although they're great, too). Keep enjoying the adventures.
