So this was the fun for today.... wake up at 4:10 and get running gear on, drive to Salem and arrive at 4:45, climb in a suburban with 11 other runners and head toward the top of Payson Canyon, dropping bags/coolers full of drinks at various spots along the way. About 1/2 way up Payson Canyon it starts to rain. Just below Payson Lakes it starts to pour, sheets of rain & hail, wind, completely crazy. At the Payson Lakes campground turnoff we park and wait for 10-15 minutes in hopes the weather will improve. No letup at all so we head down the canyon, pick up our drinks, still raining in Payson city so we head back to Salem, get in our vehicles, go home, and go to bed. Then around 7:30 Ludlow texts that he's going out at 8am, weather looking better. Get up, get ready again, go outside to find that miraculously the weather has done a complete 180 and it's sunny & cool, near perfect for running. Meet up with various runners from the earlier failed canyon run and we have a dandy run.  I let Dan trick me again and end up with 21.5 miles instead of the planned 20 miles, and that's even with walking another mile at the end to get to the van. Get home around noon. A dandy Run4Fun day!!
